The RET has been operating in Afghanistan since 2005, when the Afghan refugees started to return and re-integrate into Afghanistan. The RET has implemented over 25 programmes in the Pakistan/Afghanistan region, including livelihoods, literacy/numeracy and remedial teaching and reaching over 6’200 young people. Currently, the RET runs two Community Learning Centres in Parwan and Badakhshan province which provide remedial education and self-sustaining activities for young women who due to war, early marriages and displacement could not continue their education.
