The opportunity to study and teach Quran for illiterate prisoners in Herat prison

The officials of Herat prison have reported that they have provided the possibility of literacy and recitation of the Holy Quran for dozens of illiterate prisoners.

This action has recently led to the graduation of nearly 130 prisoners from these training courses.

According to the statements of Mohammad Nabi Khalil, the appointed manager of the Taliban in Herat prison, about 75 prisoners have completed their training courses as Quran reciters and nearly 50 people in the literacy department.

These courses last from four months to two years and the prisoners have been able to learn to read and write during it.

It should be noted that, in addition to these educational departments, nearly 100 other prisoners are also studying in technical and professional fields. Also, in the special sections for women and children of the prison, school and technical and professional trainings are also provided.

One of the prisoners praised this action and said: "This is not a prison, this is a university, and whoever uses it, it is a university for him."
