Türkiye announced the arrest of more than 30 refugees

The Turkish Coast Guard has announced that they have detained more than 30 refugees on the way to Greece.

Turkish media reported that these asylum seekers were on a plastic boat and were directed towards Turkey before reaching the shores of Greece.

So far, nothing has been said about the identity of these people.

Earlier, dozens of refugees, including Afghan refugees, were detained by the Turkish Coast Guard on their way to Greece.

Also, Turkish authorities announced that a plastic boat carrying migrants sank off the coast of Gokce Ada island in the Aegean Sea and at least 22 people died.

Meanwhile, the process of deportation and detention of Afghan refugees from Iran, Turkey and Pakistan has increased.

It should be mentioned that according to official statistics, more than 300,000 Afghan immigrants live in Türkiye.

According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), at least 8,565 people died on migration routes worldwide in 2023, the deadliest year for migrants in a decade.
