The Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has reacted to the deadly attack yesterday in Herat, which targeted worshipers when they were leaving the mosque, and has emphasized the urgency of protective measures for the Shia community in Afghanistan.

This office wrote today (Tuesday, 11 thor) on X social network that "investigations and accountability for the perpetrators and protection measures for the Afghan Shia community are urgently needed."

UNAMA has emphasized the protection of the Shia community in Afghanistan, while in the attack yesterday in Herat, worshipers were shot by gunmen while leaving the "Imam Zaman Mosque" in Guzrah district of Herat province, as a result of which six people, including a child and a The woman was killed and two others were injured.

This attack has been accompanied by widespread reactions and the officials of the previous government, including Hamid Karzai, the former president, and Abdullah Abdullah, the executive director of the previous government, have condemned it.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul has also condemned this attack and has announced its readiness to cooperate with the caretaker government to "fight terrorism".

The perpetrators of this attack have not yet been identified, and no person or group has claimed responsibility for the attack on Shia worshipers in Herat.
