Taliban Ministry of Mines; Afghanistan has good fields for the development of the mining sector

Officials of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum announced that the regime of this group is trying to develop the mining and processing industry of precious stones in Afghanistan.

Homayoun Afghan, the spokesman of the Taliban ministry, told reporters that mining is done in a more transparent manner to avoid illegality.

He added that the most important sources of precious stones are located in provinces such as Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman and Badakhshan.

In addition to mining, a well-equipped factory for processing precious stones has also been set up. The managers of this factory asked for facilities to export their products.

Abdul Aziz, the manager of the factory, said that their main challenge is lack of electricity and lack of access to sufficient land for expansion.

On the other hand, the workers said that the establishment of this factory has reduced unemployment and youth migration.

This is despite the fact that during the two years of Taliban rule over Afghanistan, this group was able to sustain itself by using Afghanistan's mines and national wealth.
