Saifullah Karimi, a local journalist in Samangan, was released from prison

The Center of Afghan Journalists has announced that Saifullah Karimi, a local reporter in Samangan province, was released from prison two days later.

On Tuesday, the 23rd of Delo, this center published a statement saying that Saifullah Karimi, a reporter of Pajhwok news agency in Samangan, who was arrested by the order of the governor of this province, was released after two days.

While welcoming the release of this journalist, the Afghan Journalists Center added that: "The detention of this journalist in the governor's personal detention center was an illegal act and the ruling authorities should seriously address this issue."

Two days ago, the Center of Afghan Journalists announced that Saifullah Karimi, a reporter of Pajhwok news agency, was arrested in Samangan province.

The Center of Afghan Journalists stated that "10 days ago, Saifullah Karimi had asked to interview Bashir Ahmad Nomani, Mustofi of this province, in connection with the protest of the owners of restaurants and hotels in Samangan to the increase in taxes, but Mustofi had refused the interview and later referred the matter to Abdul Ahad. Fazli, the governor, reports and after that he summons the governor Karimi.

This is while the Center of Afghan Journalists has repeatedly emphasized that any complaints from journalists should be followed up on the basis of the Law of Public Media and through the Media Complaints and Violations Commission.
