political uncertainty in Pakistan; Parties are not able to form a government

Five days have passed since the controversial elections in Pakistan and no new government has been formed yet. Foreign media have described this situation as a "political uncertainty" because despite the results of this election, none of the leading parties, including the Tehreek-e-Insaf Party, the Muslim League, and the People's Party, are able to form a government in this country.

Pakistan's parliamentary elections were held on February 8 while political tensions were at their peak and insecurity was rampant in the country. Its results were published with a delay that has been described as "unprecedented".

According to the results of the Pakistani elections, the candidates affiliated to the Tehreek-e-Insaf party, led by Imran Khan, who is now in prison, won 93 seats, but according to Al-Jazeera, despite being in the lead, this party is unable to form a new government in Pakistan for two reasons. .

The Tehreek-e-Insaf party did not get the necessary seats to form a new government, and the candidates affiliated to this party were also forced to participate in the elections as independent candidates, without their election symbol, i.e. the cricket stick, which prevents this party from forming a government.

Nawaz's Muslim League party, which is said to have the support of the army, won only 57 seats out of 266 seats in the National Assembly in this country's elections, and following that, it agreed with the People's Party led by Bilawal Bhutto to form a coalition government.

This agreement has not yet yielded results and "political uncertainty" has prevailed in Pakistan. According to Al Jazeera, five days after the February 8 election, Pakistan is no closer to knowing which parties will form its next government and who might be its next prime minister.

This possibility has also been raised in the Pakistani media that the independent candidates of this election may reach an agreement with the parties that intend to form the government, and based on this, the criteria for forming a coalition government may be provided, which is to win 134 seats out of 266 seats in the National Assembly.

It should be mentioned that according to the constitution of Pakistan, the first meeting of the National Assembly to elect the Prime Minister should be held three weeks after the election.
