The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul has announced the "initiative of holding a meeting of special representatives of countries" and said that this meeting is going to be held in Kabul.

On Tuesday, the 19th of Jadi, the embassy wrote on X's social page that Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the ambassador and special representative of the Iranian president for Afghanistan affairs, met with Amir Khan Motaghi, the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate, and talked about this initiative.

Amir Khan Motaghi has welcomed the holding of this meeting at the initiative of Iran. According to the announcement of the Iranian embassy, ​​Motaghi welcomed Iran's initiative in forming a regional contact group and expressed his pleasure and readiness to host a joint meeting of special representatives of regional countries on Afghanistan affairs in Kabul.

The regional contact group was formed after the fifth meeting of the Moscow format in order to interact with the Islamic Emirate, coordinate regional affairs and deal with common threats.
