a former senior official of the Ghani government; It is wrong for the Taliban to be happy with the stalemate in the Security Council

Karim Khorram, one of the prominent figures of the Afghan government during the Karzai administration, criticized the happiness of some officials of the Taliban government over the stalemate in the UN Security Council regarding the situation in Afghanistan, and called this behavior unfair.

He wrote on the Twitter social network that Taliban officials should not be happy about this situation because this stalemate of the international community will be very harmful for the people of Afghanistan.

Referring to the lack of legitimacy of the Taliban government and the international sanctions against this group, Mr. Khorram said that this impasse in the Security Council will not benefit the Afghan people in any way.

He further stated that Afghanistan needs international aid due to extreme poverty, and the Taliban should understand this issue and instead of being happy, try to solve the crisis in the country.

Meanwhile, the Security Council could not specifically demand human rights from the Taliban and the formation of a comprehensive government due to the disagreement between Russia and China with the West in the adopted statement.

Mr. Khorram is one of the few former government officials who is still present in Kabul and once again asked the Taliban to take action to improve the situation of the people.
