American intelligence agencies; The threat perspective of the Taliban regime is very low

In the annual report of the assessment of national security threats, American intelligence agencies have evaluated the prospect of widespread armed resistance against the Taliban regime in Afghanistan as low.

According to this report, armed groups opposing the Taliban are facing two major challenges; First, there was no single and strong leadership that could coordinate these scattered groups under one umbrella. Second, the lack of foreign supporters and sufficient financial resources to continue the long-term struggle against the Taliban, which makes this impossible.

In addition, the report indicates that after decades of war and bloodshed, a part of the Afghan people are tired of the continued conflicts and revenge of the Taliban and have less motivation to support the armed opposition groups.

Meanwhile, the Taliban has been able to consolidate its control over the whole of Afghanistan and take repressive measures such as the killing of opposition commanders and severe restrictions on civil liberties.

Nevertheless, American intelligence agencies have warned that the Taliban regime will not be able to solve the humanitarian crisis and economic challenges in Afghanistan.
