The efforts of Iran and the Taliban to expand mutual relations through the water of the Helmand River

The special representative of the President of Iran, in a meeting with Taliban officials in Afghanistan, appreciated the group's stance on important issues such as supporting Iran's rights and opposing Israel.

Kazemi Qomi, the head of Iran's diplomatic mission in Kabul, believes that removing the obstacles to the flow of water from the Helmand River to Iran's Sistan plays an important role in the development of relations between Tehran and the Taliban.

He expressed hope that Iran's water supply will be supplied from this river in the coming years.

On the other hand, the foreign minister of the Taliban, Amir Khan Motaghi, positively assessed the relations between Iran and Afghanistan and called for the expansion of cooperation in all fields.

The Taliban's foreign ministry also condemned Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria and called it a violation of diplomatic standards and a provocative act.

Iranian authorities have also confirmed that the country's annual quota of the Helmand River has been allocated to them. This issue can lay the foundation for the development of economic and commercial cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban.
