UNICEF announced the support of 40 Afghan women and girls in the sewing sector

The United Nations Children's Fund in Afghanistan says that with the financial support of the European Union, they have provided 40 young women and girls with job creation and tailoring training.

On Monday, March 25, UNICEF wrote on its "X" Twitter page that these women and girls can cover part of their families' expenses through the financial support of the European Union Embassy in Afghanistan.

The EU office in Afghanistan also said in a message that hundreds of women and girls are gaining skills and opportunities for a "better" future.

In the last two years, UN aid organizations have allocated most of their aid and focus in the areas of women's empowerment and employment; As the Office of the United Nations Vice-President emphasized in its recent 2023 reports, women's decision-making power in families has decreased at the same time as they lose their jobs.

Most of these women emphasized international aid and support for women in the UNAMA evaluation.

One of the women who benefited from the support of the European Union said without mentioning her name that she is now able to support her family financially through sewing.

On Monday, the 6th of Hamel, this organization reported the goal of launching these programs as "women's self-sufficiency in Afghanistan" by publishing a message on X's page.
