Deputy Director of UNAMA: Forced deportation of migrants from Afghanistan's neighboring countries is against international migration laws

The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations in Afghanistan says that the forced deportation of Afghan immigrants by neighboring countries is against international migration laws.

On Monday, the 13th of Hamal, the Office of the Caretaker Government Affairs said in a newsletter that Andrika Ratot, the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations for Afghanistan, raised this issue in a meeting with Maulawi Abdulsalam Hanafi, the Administrative Deputy of the Ministry of the Islamic Emirate.

According to the newsletter, this meeting was held yesterday and the two sides discussed various issues including forced deportation of Afghan immigrants, distribution of humanitarian aid and some other issues.

The Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations said that the humanitarian aid of the international community will continue for the people of Afghanistan and asked the officials of the Islamic Emirate to cooperate in delivering this aid to the deserving citizens of Afghanistan.

In the newsletter, it is stated that he still welcomed the "global security and prohibition of smuggling, drug trade and use, and elimination of administrative corruption."

At the same time, Abdul Salam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the Islamic Emirate's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has appreciated the international community's humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan.

He also called the process of forced deportation of Afghan immigrants from neighboring countries against all norms.

This is despite the fact that during the past one year, when the process of forced deportation of Afghan immigrants from neighboring countries, especially Pakistan and Iran, is being implemented with intensity, hundreds of thousands of immigrants have returned to Afghanistan from these two countries, both forcibly and voluntarily.

In addition, Pakistan has decided to undertake the second phase of forced deportation of Afghan immigrants from its states in the near future.
